Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

When you enter data through our forms or through a giveaway, your data may be processed by a third party in order for us to reach back out to the entrant for inquiries and sweepstakes. Neither we nor our third parties are allowed to share any data you provide us with additional third parties.

Here are the third parties we partner with in order to provide comment forms and entry giveaways:

Analytics for Site Performance

We partner with Independent Analytics to provide website analytics for performance purposes only.

First, Independent Analytics does not use cookies at all. Instead, it uses our own site’s REST API to record visits as they happen.

Second, Independent Analytics does not communicate with outside servers. Unlike third-party apps that save your data on their servers, Independent Analytics runs on 6 Months Later’s site server only. This means that all analytics data is created and saved entirely on our site, not on third party’s.

Lastly, Independent Analytics does not store personally identifiable information (PII). It uses a visitor’s IP address to get their geolocation, then encrypts their IP combined with their User Agent string to create a unique ID, and this unique ID is then used to recognize future visits.

The type of data collected is page visits, what sources traffic came from (Social Media, Search Enging Traffic, direct, etc.), Views, Average Session Duration, Bounce Rate, Views Per Session, Geographic location (approximate), and device type accessing our site (this helps us make sure our site is optimized for the way the majority of our users are accessing it).

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Any email addresses collected through our contact forms are forwarded directly to our channel’s email address.

Limitation of Liability

By using the contact form found on this site or entering any of the giveaways associated with this site, you agree to release and hold harmless 6 Months Later Reviews and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from: (i) such entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries (vi) any data leak from the third parties (listed in section “Who We Share Your Data With) used to administer our giveaway and contact form features on this site.
